About Shellanda
Shellanda is an Endorsed Midwife, mother of two, and the founder of the Matrescence Birthing Centre on the Gold Coast. After years of supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, she set out to create a model of care that bridges the gap between home birth and traditional hospital birth.
Driven by a passion for physiological birth, continuity of midwifery care, informed decision-making, and comprehensive postpartum support, Shellanda has brought together a collaborative team of midwives, obstetricians, lactation consultants, women’s health physiotherapists, and allied health professionals to support families throughout the transition into parenthood.
Her vision is simple yet powerful: to create a maternity service where women are trusted, families are supported, and birth is honoured.
